INVESTMENT & TRADE COOPERATION BETWEEN KASHKADARYA REGION AND BRITISH COMPANIES DISCUSSED


On May 6, 2020 officials of Kashkardarya region and Karshi city of Uzbekistan held a webinar on the region’s promising investment and export opportunities. The webinar was attended by Uzbek exporters and British companies.

Mr Oybek Kamilov, Deputy mayor of Karshi presented the investment projects in detail which could be implemented with British investors in the region. The possibility of supplying organic Uzbek fruits and vegetables to the UK market was also highlighted.  

Mr Kent Walters, Managing Partner of Chimgan Corporation UK has shown an interest in a more detailed study of investment projects proposed in the region, especially in the construction materials.

As the Suffolk County imports large number of fresh and dried fruit and vegetable products from overseas though its Felixstow seaport, Mr Koyas Miyah, Trade Advisor to the Suffolk Chamber of Commerce noted that Uzbek melon, citron, pomegranate, dried prunes, walnut and black raisins are of great interest at the British market.

Mr Hadi Kalo, General Director of the company “Kalo Group Holding” suggested to explore the possibility of implementing export insurance in trade relations between Uzbek exporters and British importers.
