UZBEK EXPORTERS TO GET SUBSIDIES FOR TRANSPORTATION COSTS

On May 7, 2020 President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed the decree “On measures to further support to export activities” (the full text of the document is currently available in Uzbek and in Russian)

Key points:

1. The Decree has approved the list of 68 products, including fresh and dried fruits and vegetables, medication, household appliances, sewing and knitwear, shoes and more. Businesses delivering export those products by railroad, car and air will receive up to 50 percent subsidies for compensation of transportation costs.

2. Until January 1, 2021, exporters won’t be verified for debts for all types of obligatory payments during customs clearance.

3. The Export Promotion Agency under the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade provides compensation for reimbursement of insurance premiums when exporters use insurance services as bail.

4. The Republican Export Commission has been instructed within a week to approve the procedure for providing subsidies to exporters.
